- A provisional merit list is made from the marks in your qualifying examination, separately for each trade and work centre. If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate is preferred.
- Candidates are shortlisted for document verification based on the merit list and the available seats. The list is published on the ONGC website or sent to your registered email. Shortlisting gives no right to engagement.
- Documents are verified. Bring originals and self-attested copies of your date of birth proof, mark sheets and certificates, caste/category or PwBD certificate if applicable, ID proof and your NAPS/NATS registration details.
- The final merit list and results are published at ongcapprentices.ongc.co.in and sent by email. Engagement is subject to being found medically fit.
The notification lists no written test or interview. A false declaration or a mismatch with your documents cancels your candidature.

It is a 12-month training programme, and ONGC has no obligation to offer regular employment afterwards, so treat it as valuable work experience at a Maharatna PSU. Check your trade, scheme and work centre, and apply before 20 November 2026.
